To Stand With Giants

What right have I to stand and sing
When those before have said it all?
Where in my heart comes now this call
To retell tales? To make halls ring?

How can I speak where they told tales?
What songs have I that measure those?
What poem could I create, or prose,
That would stand fast 'gainst such a gale?

When Ioseph first his songs did say
What portals opened for us here?
How could he know his words so clear
Would reach far Northern wolves at play?

How did Morgana feel that night
When first she gave the sagas voice?
Did she know then that simple choice
Would blaze a pathway with it’s light?

What Hector? Aaron? Wyndreth? John?
How did you summon forth your muse?
How did you know which words to use
To break the darkness? Bring the Dawn?

I stand because they showed the way.
The road less travelled was their trail.
To stumble? Fall? To try and fail?
This was the test of each first day.

To make halls ring! That was the call.
And so they stood. And so will I.
My voice? Each word a battle cry
To challenge those within the hall

To stand. To lift the horn and cry:
“I‘ve walked with Giants!” No small thing
To tell a tale. To make halls ring.
And so they stood. And so will I!
