The Merchants' Song
By Ihsan al-Kilwiyya (currently known as Inez de Rusconi)
Music: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, traditional

N.B.: GST = (Canada's) Goods and Services Tax

God rest ye merry merchants: may you make the yuletyde pay!
You're sure to make some money when you join the SCA.
For you can jack up prices - it's more period that way
And you don't have to charge the GST, GST
Customers won't have to pay the GST.

You can sell fancy codpieces, the biggest ones around.
Or you can sell nice tippets that will drag upon the ground.
Perhaps you'll make some chain-mail -- and then sell it by the pound.
And you don't have to charge the GST, GST
Customers won't have to pay the GST.

So when you go to Pennsic War it's products you must bring.
So join the other merchants that live better than a king.
Just remember that you can sell a Tuchuk anything.
And you don't have to charge the GST, GST
In the S.C.A extortion is for FREE!
