Northern Wind
When the snow falls down south where the bright sun once ruled, my
love.
I think of my home where Northern wolves sing
Where the fire burns bright and the sweet mead does flow, my love
I'll hear the rich voice that the Northern wind brings.
Chorus:
For the Northern wind blows o'er the fair lands of Ealdormere
It carries the sound of my homeland's sweet strains
And the Northern wind blows o'er the fair lands of Ealdormere
Though my travels are great there my heart still remains.
I have said my farewells when I knew I would leave, my love
And drunk one more glass when the time came too soon
I have swallowed my tears with a smile for my friends, my love
And sung a sweet song of the Northern wind's tune.
Chorus
Though the path has been hard and the road does still twist, my love
The rain's bite is chill and shadows are long.
Still the distance is less and the fires are close, my love.
Sweet music I hear of the Northern wind's song.
Chorus
